Government denies reshuffle report
The government in a vaguely worded statement this afternoon denied a story on the Opposition media regarding a Cabinet reshuffle.
One News yesterday mentioned several people as possibly being in line for Cabinet posts in a reshuffle which will come about after the Prime Minister said he is considering splitting the Ministry of Justice and Home Affairs.
The report said that Beppe Fenech Adami was being earmarked for the Justice Ministry, but he may refuse. Other movements were to involve Home Affairs Minister Carm Mifsud Bonnici, Robert Arrigo and Jason Azzopardi, among others.
The government said the Opposition media was inventing stories and not observing its own code of ethics about not saying half truths or untruths.
Meanwhile, informed sources said that the Ministry of Justice and Home Affairs may be split without new people being brought into the Cabinet, with the Justice Ministry being assigned to one of the existing ministers along with his existing portfolio.

WOW!!!!.... is it really, really going to happen!??..I've been harping on about a reshuffle within the cabinet of gonziPN for quite a while!
However...the reshuffle should not be done by Lawrence- but by the PN. The PN has to remove its prefix and Mario DeMarco should be its new leader.....or perhaps Tonio Borg?!?
And most definately, austin , tonio f. and edwin will be sent away! The election is but a few months away.
..and the beat goes on...and the beat goes on....

And from where would this party emerge? From the cosmos, perhaps?

This false reshuffle lie was invented by the Labour Party and One News with the intention and hope that they will confuse the MPs on the government side before the Saturday Parliament VOTE , 35 AGAINST 34 ), but no one fell for their dirty lie and our Prime Minister was very intelligent and only spoke in the right time . Super One News are getting more and more Untrusted STATION.

Il-media tal-labour party semmiet hafna nies fl-ahbarijiet taghha minbarra lil Franco debono li se jinghata ministeru firsi biex tkompli trewwah il-nar taht il-hatab. Li qalet dwar kien biss li l-prim ministru accetta li Franco debono jithalla jikkontesta l-elezzjoni li gejja f'isem il-P.N. Din hija farsa kbira ghax sa issa hadd ghadu ma jaf ufficjalment min se jikkontesta. The reshuffle will come......rest assured: many areas in the running of this country are literally stagnant, corruption is rampant, different weights and measures are used depending on contacts and manipulations: the administration of this country requires an immediate overhaul. The Courts necessitate an individual who will be focused 100% on them, their running, how justice is being administered in our country, architecturally re structuring the Law Courts to make them more functionable in the light of the more specialised fields that have cropped up, protected spaces where sessions might be carried out in discreetness unlike the seemingly cattle market that one experiences from time to time, conference rooms for the adjudicants and law practitioners, and so forth...................so many things to do but cannot be attended to as JUSTICE has been so much side lined that whoever becomes solely in charge of JUSTICE,will have a herculean task that demands bulldozing techniques without any tramplings!!
Similarly in the field of Health and other areas. The PL is not exuding that political confidence that so many unmanipulated voters are yearning for to determine where their vote will go. A third Party has to emerge that can absorb the so many disgruntled voters with both political parties. In the interests of the Nation,a reshuffle is indeed an immediate requirement.

Hear..hear Dottore!
So refreshing to read an intelligent ,unbiased comment. I totally agree with you with regards to the dire need of a third party made up of fresh brains untainted from the smell of corruption and the pungent smell of stagnation. Alas, this is but a dream on the island in the sun, as the rot which has created the 50/50 division among the electorate is well and truly entrenched in the PN and PL supporters.

"Where there is smoke, there is fire." Sorry Sir. Not in journalism! Journalists hear a lot of things. But serious journalism sifts the rumour, sometimes intentionally invented, from fact. Worse still, at times it mixes comment and facts. An old journalists' maxim is "Fact is sacred. Comment is free!" In my 40 years of jourmalism I have shared stories I had got to know with other journalists. There were times when I wrote a paragraph or two about what I had SEEN,and the other one, sitting behind his desk, produced a whole column of 'news'!

In this country we never end up doing anything because if the opposition says we should to do that the government says that we should do exactly the opposite of what was proposed by the opposition in the first place. This happens every day where politics are involved in this tiny island and obviously those with a grain of common sense would agree that both the government and the opposition have good and not so good policies so why is it that we never get the best out of the two inputs and refine it to a good output. Why is it that for 50% the PN is always right and for the other 50% the LP is always right. We are so immature and amateurish at the same time, it is about time that we grow up and put the national interest before any other partisan interest.
Joseph Calleja
Dec 3rd 2011, 15:36
But Government, some reshuffling of Cabinet would be a great idea, especially after the mess some of these Ministers have created or lacked in creating. Maybe the opposition media has a valid point after all. Where there is smoke, there is fire. Again we need a change because the situation we have now is not working to good. A good example is Air Malta and Arriva followed by our Justice System etc etc.
