I would like to congratulate Arriva for the introduction of direct routes to Mater Dei Hospital from various towns and villages.

My only complaint, and of many others, is that bus 209, which starts from Siġġiewi and passes through Żebbuġ and Qormi, is supposed to go to Mater Dei. However, the trip ends at the University and everyone has to disembark there. We patients who have to go to hospital walk the long uphill distance to the main entrance. The hill is very steep.

I agree that the students have every right to arrive at the University on time.

I suffer from rheumatoid arthritis and have to attend hospital every fortnight. With the old system route 890 first went to Mater Dei and then proceeded to the University.

I made a lot of phone calls and even wrote to Arriva, but all was in vain. I appeal to the Prime Minister, who is in charge of the task force, to look into this problem and solve it once and for all.
