First generation iPod being recalled
The first generation Apple iPod, placed on the market between September 2005 and December 2006, is being recalled.
The Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority said the battery used to power the iPod may overheat and pose a safety risk in very rare cases.
Consumers are advised to contact the respective retail outlet from where the iPod was purchased for assistance as part of the recall process.
The Apple iPod 1st Generation has a black or white plastic front and silver metal back – later iPod models have a metal front and back.
Should consumers have any concerns regarding the safety of any product, they may contact the Technical Regulations Division within the MCCAA on 2395 2000.

We live in heaven on earth. The biggest problem we have right now is overheating iPods. And to think, we had no iPods during Labour's time...God forbid you were caught trying to import one....how times change!

They do. I'm using it right now. Love it! Won't change it for anything else.

The article is completely wrong. The iPod being recalled is the 1st gen iPod Nano, a far cry from the massively larger 1st gen iPod which was only availble in white and which I doubt was ever sold in Malta.
