Selected works by four artists in various genres and mediums are on display at APS Bank’s head office in Swatar, an event meant to support the country’s artistic heritage.

Curated by Louis Laganà, the exhibition includes watercolours by Jacqueline Agius, sculptures by the late Joseph Casha, oil and acrylic paintings by Liz Denaro and glass sculptures by Walter Vella.

Ms Agius is an artist who specialises in watercolour and her favourite subject is the Maltese landscape.

Mr Casha, who passed away in June, was an established, veteran sculptor who used different mediums like wood, stone, ceramics and also bronze. He was one of the few artists who used surreal imagery in his sculpture.

An emerging artist, Ms Denaro is relatively new in the Maltese art scene. Her forte in painting is the human figure. She works mostly in oils and acrylics and creates her female nudes with a distinctive style.

Though, a well acclaimed musician, Mr Vella is also a practising artist and expresses his thoughts and feelings in glass sculpture. His shapes and structures, made with an array of coloured glass, are inspired by nature, the sea and the environment that surrounds him.

The exhibition is open to the public between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Mondays to Fridays and from 8 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. on Saturdays. It closes on December 15.
