British international high-performance coach James Barclay is presently conducting a seven-day training camp in Malta.

Organised by Badminton Malta (BM) with the support of the Confederation of Mediterranean Badminton (COMEBA) as well as Badminton Europe, this training course is primarily intended for the association’s junior academy which comprises the most promising players and their respective coaches.

The training sessions, held on a daily basis, alternate between the Cottonera Sports Complex and St Aloysius College (Birkirkara).

Every session integrates theoretical and practical aspects, thus enabling the participants to assimilate the latest technical and tactical knowhow about the game.

During this intensive training course, Barclay is focusing particularly on footwork and match tactics.

Barclay is also visiting several schools and colleges in order to promote badminton among students as well as to assist the PE teachers.

BM expressed its satisfaction at the high level of training Barclay is providing to the participants of this training camp.

BM also thanked COMEBA and Badminton Europe for their valuable support in the successful organisation of this camp.
