The total rainfall registered last month at Malta International Airport amounted to 131.8mm.
The Met Office said in a statement this was 51.8mm more than the November norm. The highest total rainfall for November was 420.3mm in 1999. The highest daily amount of rainfall registered by the Malta Airport MetOffice was on November 16 with a total of 32.4mm.
The average temperature last month was 17.4°C making it warmer than the November norm by 0.4 of a degree. The warmest day was the 9th when the highest temperature of 22.9°C was measured at Malta Airport.
However, this did not exceed the highest temperature ever recorded in November at the airport since 1947, 28.2°C, measured on November 6, 1982.
The mean wind speed measured was 7.9 knots, and for 76% of the time it kept within the light speed bracket.
Although the predominant wind direction for the Maltese islands is northwest, this changed to a southeast direction last months.
The strongest gust was 37 knots from the southeast on the 22nd. This contrasts with the record gust for November, measured by the MetOffice at 60 knots which was recorded in 1988.
November nights, with an average temperature of 15°C, were also warmer by 1.1°C than the climate norm. The coolest night last month was the 19th when the thermometer reached a minimum at 11.8°C. The lowest temperature on record for November was that of the November 23, 1995 when the temperature was only 5 degrees.
Last month thunder was heard on seven days - the 3rd, 11th, 12th, 17th, 19th, 20th and 29th - three days more than the norm for November. Hail was observed on the 29th.
