The Resources Ministry is in talks with a museum in Tuscany for the original plans of Valletta by architect Francesco Laparelli to be loaned to Malta.

Resources Minister George Pullicino said in Parliament that the plan is for the plans to be put on display in the new inter-active centre on the fortifications, which will be housed in the newly re-built/restored Biagio Steps in Valletta.

The centre, which will be inaugurated next year, will take vicitors on a journey through the history of Malta's rich history of military architecture, with some 30 interactive monitors giving particular details about different phases of the fortifications.

The Laparelli plans are housed in a museum in Cortona.
