The Friends of the Little Sisters of the Poor have appealed to the business community to consider the Ħamrun nursing home when deciding on Christmas gestures this year.
The committee of volunteers who raise funds for the home run by a hard-working community of Little Sisters are seeking to raise funds for some much-needed physiotherapy equipment to help the residents stay active and healthy.
Equipment such as a shoulder rotation exerciser, parallel bars, treadmills, a stepper, and a single curved shoulder arc would go a long way to reach this aim.
The Friends are suggesting businesses make a small donation or fund a piece of equipment, for instance, instead of sending Christmas cards.
More information on the required equipment is obtainable from the Friends’ chairman Christine Debono on 7944 4135 or by e-mail at christine.debono010@gmail.com.
Alternatively, donations may be sent to the Mother Superior of the Little Sisters of the Poor, St Paul’s Home for the Elderly, Ħamrun, HMR 1783 in envelopes clearly marked ‘Physiotherapy Equipment’.
