GABA presents the exclusive timepieces by leading Swiss watchmaker Cyrus, whose modern and nonconformist style has already earned the brand a number of awards in its category.

Cyrus won the award for Best Independent Brand at the Nuit de l’Horologerie, a very exclusive competition based in Monaco which gathers key collectors and watch aficionados from different countries. Moreover, the Kuros model won third prize in the design category of the Watch Oscars, and the Klepcys model won fourth prize in the Complication category. The watches’ movement was developed by Jean Francois Mojon, winner of the Best Watchmaker award at the 2010 Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix.

Presented by Laurent and Julien Lecamp, Cyrus embodies the personality and background of its founders. No corners are cut in the creation of the Cyrus timepieces. The case of the Kuros collection was tested on 500 wrists to ensure it was universally ergonomic, and then patented. Its highly innovative design shines through with features such as the crocodile leather or rubber strap. The crown at 9 o’clock plays a twin role, that of ensuring symmetry, and thanks to a small plate screwed over the lower part it tells its owner the exact number of this limited series.

Inspired by the conquests of the powerful Babylonian king Cyrus the Great (598BC-529BC), the gold version models bear a replica of an ancient coin on the case back, reproducing an original stater made during the reign of Cyrus, the first currency to be circulated.
