UK strike, Air Malta offers re-booking
Air Malta warned today that the public sector strike in the UK on Wednesday is expected to lead to long delays.
It said that passengers booked on its flights on that day are being offered free re-booking on any of its scheduled flights to/from the UK between 29 November and 7 December 2011.
For any re-booking enquiries clients may contact Air Malta’s International Call Centre on 21662211. The call centre will be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

This is the difference between airlines such as Virgin and Airmalta. Airmalta charge for a change in date, other airlines do not......

This is a sick joke. I have been told that i could re book but would have to pay the difference in fare. ?????? Is it my fault that there is a strike ?? Why should i have to fork out extra cash?. Is this how the experts are going to turn things around by fleecing its customers??

And if you folks believe that you'll believe everything, including the politicians. I know from experience that AM is not all that what they say is correct and true to the point there is always something extra maybe not much but then again its NOT ALL FREE. unless they sign it in black and white that re-booking is FREE.

Hmm my relative and companion re-booked today to return from the UK a day early because of the impending strike and while the 40euro re-booking fee per person was waived, they had to pay 75 euros extra each as there were not fares available in the same price as their original booking (although still flying economy). I'm curious the response they get when they query this at check-in with a copy of the Air Malta press release on this topic. Does not seem so for free to me. Free would be to honour the original price paid and set aside KM's yield management system for such an occassion. Then again the word 'free' seems to have a different meaning in Malta judging by various commerical and retail offers I've come across over the years.

Your friend isn't the only person who had to fork out an extra €'s for the very same reason, my colleagues from Manchester too had the same problem with the famous fairer then fair AM. come on lads who're kidding, we know for a fact that the maltese just do not bend an inch and at the end its the passenger that suffers, no wonder you lot at AM are at a loss. Customer care My Foot, i don't think you know the meaning, its always one side .

Personally AirMalta has one of the best service inflight. Many Customers especially UK customers are really spoilt. They want everything more than they pay for!! Sad but true!!

@steve loveridge
I can tell you mate, the customer service with AirMalta has always, (I mean always) been good, maybe because you might have an arrogant personality, if you approach them in the right manner, they are willing to meet your requirements. We travel with AirMalta a minimium of 3 times a year, we in the past (many years ago) even changed flights for nothing.
If I were you, I wouldn't say under the latest British Management the service has been great!!!! unless you are an occational flyer.
As always you have another option to take your custom to the low fare companies and hopefully you might be happier.
We certainly be flying with AirMalta in the future.

This sounds like a sensible business move to prevent Air Malta being stuck with passengers whilst the UK take a virtual out of sequence National Holiday.

Oh gosh, the Brirish caped crusader is here to save us from ourselves,,,,
We've had so many foreigners running the Air Malta show in past years...all trying to teach us the error of our ways....undoubtedly they got a bit financially fat...but they're all gone and all but forgotten.....we're still here and will still be when your compatriot will be nothing but a distasteful memory.

Dear Mr. loveridge,
From your writing it seems you think very low of us Maltese.
You should be ashamed of yourself especially if you live in Malta.
