A graduate from the notarial course ended up behind bars today after an argument with the police in St Julian's.

The incident happened when a policeman told the graduates, who were celebrating on a bus, not to block the road.

The police confirmed that the  graduate is to be charged in court with resisting the police.

Unconfirmed reports said the graduate, who is from Zurrieq, tried to throw a punch at a policeman and was arrested on the spot.

The police said no policeman was injured.

The incident happened in Sacred Heart Square in the afternoon.
