The refugees’ section of the Emigrants Commission has made special arrangements for those who cannot pay the full €58 for a work permit, allowing them to borrow the cash or part of it.

The commission thanked the government for the decision to grant refugees, asylum seekers and those given subsidiary and temporary humanitarian protection the opportunity to obtain a work permit. It asked the government to consider granting the social security benefits granted to Maltese to work-permit holders who live on their own and children’s allowance to those who live on their own and have more than one child.
