Airport has new CEO

Malta International Airport announced that Markus Klaushofer has been appointed its new CEO, taking up his post on January 1.

For the past three years, Mr Klaushofer served at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo International Airport as chief commercial officer. Before that, he spent over seven years at Vienna International Airport, first as head of marketing and sales and, later, of business development.

He is 38 years old, was born in Vienna and has attended Law School at the University of Vienna.

Mr Klaushofer served on MIA’s board of directors between April 2007 and April 2009.
