The Westin Dragonara Resort was recently confirmed as an eco-certified hotel for a further two years by the Malta Tourism Authority following a detailed environmental audit.

This was announced during a half-day seminar on environmental sustainability within the hospitality industry, organised by the Malta Tourism Authority at the Dolmen Hotel in Qawra.

The audit was carried out to verify compliance with criteria related to waste management, resource efficiency, green procurement, staff training and general environmental management, among other areas.

During the event, the authority also announced it became an official member of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council, an international initiative dedicated to promoting sustainable tourism practices around the world.
