Renzo Spiteri releases his latest album

Silence Sounds and Spaces is the latest release from musician Renzo Spiteri.

The concept album, recorded and produced by Spiteri, was recently released during sold-out performances at St James Cavalier, Valletta, and is the result of a year-long musical journey through archaeological sites spread across the country.

Through the use of Spiteri’s extraordinary world of sounds and featuring unique on-site recordings, Silence Sounds and Spaces offers a fresh, contemporary interpretation of the feel and image of the Neolithic sites which play an important role in Maltese history and culture.

“Silence Sounds and Spaces is about creating a painting of the Neolithic sites using notes and sounds through a transparent and simple score,” Spiteri said.

“The CD is a tapestry of sounds overlaying each other, weaving ideas together.”

A creative musician renowned for speaking multiple languages with his hands, his artistic versatility and passion has allowed him to develop fresh musical possibilities and unlimited modes of expression.

He aptly merges his role of musician with that of composer, musical director and producer, acting as a strong link between the music itself and other types of artistic expression, be it a film, dance, theatre, literature or visual installation.
