A 71-year-old man from the UK is in a critical condition after a fall.

The police said they were informed that a man needed assistance in Triq ir-Rizzi, St Paul's Bay at around 3.45 p.m.

They said it is likely that the man fell near an indoor pool. The man was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.

An inquiry is being held.
