A 34-year-old man who lives in Ghajnsielem has been jailed 10-and-a-half years and fined €23,000 after he admitted to cultivating cannabis or distribution.

Daniel Holmes had a number of plants which together added up to about a kilogramme of the drug (dry weight).

In its submissions, the prosecution argued that some plants were a metre high and this meant that they had been sown about four months before. There were also packets of the plant ready for distribution.
