Melita customers with interactive TV service are now able to rent Hollywood blockbuster movies from the comfort of their home through their TV set. The service is an enhancement to the current OnDemand! product available to all home entertainment pack subscribers and is managed by international industry leader On Demand Group (ODG).
New releases from top Hollywood studios will be available for rental in line with DVD releases in the UK, which is three to six months after the cinematic release. Apart from these titles, customers will also be able to rent blockbuster movies which have been released in the last years. Top recent movies will also be available in high definition option, and with dolby 5.1 sound.
Among the first launch blockbuster movies clients will find titles such as Thor, Rango, Water for Elephants and X-Men First Class among others.
Latest movie releases will rent for €3.50 while new releases will rent for €2.99 or €3.99 in high definition. Library blockbuster releases will rent for as low as €1.49. Once a movie is rented customers can watch the movie as many times as they want for a 48-hour period.
Customers may simply rent a movie with the push of a button and Melita delivers for free directly to TV screens. Customers do not need to sign up with new accounts or remember complicated passwords. The rental library is automatically available to all home entertainment pack customers. Once a rental has been confirmed, the charge is simply added to the customers’ monthly bill.
“This new service confirms our focus on bringing quality entertainment content to our TV clients. The service works pretty much on the same concept of renting from a DVD store, simply without the hassle of having to go to the DVD store. Our graphical user interface is simple and intuitive, and customers just have to browse the library with their remote control, and click the movie they want to rent and watch.
