MHRA holds AGM tomorrow
New president and CEO for MHRA
The Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association tomorrow holds its 53rd annual general meeting and will discuss the theme ‘Beyond the Next Wave’, emphasising the need for all stakeholders to address growth strategies for sustainable tourism .
Oliver Graue, editor in chief of Biz Travel publication, will be the keynote speaker and will discuss current trends in the travel market and challenges expected for the forthcoming year. Biz Travel is a leading German magazine which focuses on business travel.
The AGM will also be addressed by Mario de Marco, Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism, Gavin Gulia, opposition main spokesman on tourism and George Micallef, MHRA president. Mr Micallef will be relinquishing his two-year presidency but will still give his contribution to the MHRA in other spheres.
The members will elect a new council and president . During the AGM there will also be the launch of MHRA’s new branding identity and the introduction of Andrew Agius Muscat who will be taking over from George Schembri as the new MHRA CEO. Mr Schembri will be retiring at the end of the month.
