Is there any other country that starts with the christmas decorations so early? I've seen roundabouts with lit up xmas decorations since the first week of november -- apart fromthe solemnity of this month, isnt it a waste at a time the govt wants to teach us not to waste? also, pretty decorations doesnt boost sales, it's money in the pocket.....

In North America they start early also but I prefer the old system where the Christmas season used to start on December 16. I don't know if other countries start so early.

You people are the reason why I'm not proud of being Maltese. You are NEVER happy and all you do is complain! They are just Christmas lights... if you don't want to... don't look at them

I love them. Defenately much nicer then the lights that our village (in the UK) put up. But do agree, here in the UK, they have celebrities attending for such occasion and loads of people turn up. Not that I have anything against the Minister, but couldn't they have a local 'celebrity doing this'! Are there any?

It must be very difficult to switch on these lights since they appointed Malta's FINANCE MINISTER to do it.

Trust me you better have your own personal transport if you wanna go to Valletta, else you'll regret that you decided to catch the public transport :)

Well done. At least they know it's Christmas. Bugibba is the only locality on this planet without a single christmas decoration for years. I do my best to decorate my shop and even do a traditional crib as an attraction but once you walk outside you think you are in an atheist state, not a single star to show it's christmas. Even Maghatab landfill was decorated last year. Why not Bugibba?

Looks better and fits more for Christmas than the flashy colourful blinky whatever.

Stop complaining for once in your life! Why do we have to create an argument on a Christmas decoration? If you do not like it choose Sliema as your shopping spot this year.....
Happy Christmas ;-)

Seriously? you call these "Christmas decorations"?? A simple red bow stuck on walls or dangling from light caps would have made a more Christmas effect!

PATHETIC AS LAST YEAR. cHRISTMAS WITHOUT COLOUR.
This will be the ideal venue for Scrooge.
The Nobel Prize should be given to who keeps on expounding these odd and strange ideas.
Well done! You should be proud of another fiasco
