If you are in London in early December, help yourself to a big slice of English eccentricity in Covent Garden at the Great Christmas Pudding Race.

Teams of runners in fancy dress race around Covent Garden’s West Piazza watched by an amused and bemused crowd of well-wishers. They have to negotiate a challenging and comical obstacle course while carefully balancing a Christmas pudding on a tray.

The race begins at 11 a.m. and raises money for Cancer Research UK.
