Plastic toys imports

The huge amount of cheap plastic objects, mostly toys, being imported into Malta from the Far East, is hugely detrimental to our environment and in particular to our eco-system.

These toys are often broken by the children within minutes, and so have to be disposed of, thus polluting the environment for hundreds of years.

The only ones to gain are the importers of these objects, who prefer bringing cheap products rather than those made of durable plastic.

Such imports, I feel, should be prohibited.
