CoE launches Malta Engineering Excellence Awards

The Chamber of Engineers (CoE) recently launched its 10th Malta Engineering Excellence Awards.

The awards are an opportunity to recognise engineering excellence

CoE president Saviour Baldacchino said the awards were an opportunity to recognise engineering excellence in the areas of innovation and leadership and those who, throughout their career, have contributed significantly to the development of engineering in Malta.

The Leadership Award recognises exceptional leadership leading to successful planning, implementation and direction of outstanding achievements, effectiveness in raising the level of engineering excellence, promotion of the engineering profession in industry and society, and technical and economic contributions to the success of the organisation.

The Innovation Award is all about engineering achievements that demonstrate an original or innovative application of new or existing techniques, a high degree of merit, skill and ingenuity, and a high technical value to the profession. Nominees will be judged on the quality and effectiveness of engineering projects in their respective industry. The Lifetime Achievement Award is the chamber’s most prestigious award and is given to an individual who has contributed significantly to the development of engineering in Malta.

The awards for innovation, leadership and lifetime achievement will be presented during the CoE’s annual reception on December 7 at St John’s Cavalier, Embassy of the Sovereign Military Order of St John, Ordinance Street, Valletta. The event will be held under the distinguished patronage of President George Abela.

The CoE invites its members to participate in this process by nominating individuals and/or organisations that deserve recognition. Nominations are open. Further information can be found at www.coe.org.mt.
