Accountants attend training courses in Sicily
The group of accountants outside the Castle of Donnafugata.
The scenic beauty of the village of Chiaramonte Gulfi on the Hyblean mountains in the province of Ragusa in Sicily provided the perfect backdrop for the first CPE (Continuing Professional Education) training courses organised by Steven Galea and helped by YTC and Go Sicily Properties, who provided travel and logistical arrangements.
Training was conducted by lecturer Jonathan Dingli, who has vast international lecturing experience in Europe and Asia. These two 4.5-hour courses were duly accredited by the Malta Institute of Accountants as official training for CPE purposes and dealt with ‘Financial reporting and assurance – an SME perspective’ and ‘Accounting for non-current assets under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)’.
The group took advantage of their visit to Sicily to relax after the courses and enjoy the Siciliancuisine.
The programme included visits to the Unesco World Heritage towns of Ragusa Ibla, Modica and Scicli, the Castle of Donnafugata, a state-of-the-art winery, the Lake of Santa Rosalia and a sumptuous six-course meal at a typical Sicilian agriturismo in Palazzolo Acreide.
