The budget moved yesterday promoted the family and included several measures to benefit young people, the Moviment Zghazagh Partit Nazzjonalista said.

The MZPN said in a statement said the measures included a new tax band for parents, an increase in children's allowance, assistance to parents sending their children to private schools, the continuation of the scheme encouraging women to return to employment and the increase in the maternity leave.

The budget also focused on sports with assistance given for the development of an adequate motorsports track as well as the building of a sports school.

It also launched a fund to promote the teaching of music in band clubs complementing the investment in education.

Also positive was the extension of the car scrappage scheme and the extension of other scheme to benefit business.

The movement hoped that all incentives and proposals moved in the budget would come into effect in the shortest time possible so that they would start to be enjoyed as soon as possible.
