Emanuel Farrugia, 47, of Birkirakara pleaded not guilty to stealing a pistol, handling stolen property, severely injuring a man and illegally carring a knife.

The case happened on November 12 after Mr Farrugia had an argument with the same man, Shaun Aquilina, the day before.

Mr Farrugia went back to the alleged scene of the crime with a pistol.

Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera remanded him in custody.

On June 20, Mr Farrugia had been acquitted of attempted murder after the jurors found he had acted in self defence in another argument with another person.
