The police have arrested a 42-year-old Maltese man in connection with the stabbing of two Romanian men, aged 29 and 36, in St Julians early on Sunday morning.

One of them was in critical condition and the other suffered slight injuries.

An ambulance rushed them to Mater Dei hospital after the police were called to St George’s Street, St Julians at about 4.30 a.m.

Both victims live in St Paul’s Bay, the police said.

Magistrate Neville Camilleri has appointed an inquiry into the case.
