Blue is for diabetes

Fort Manoel was lit up in blue over the weekend ahead of World Diabetes Day celebrated worldwide today. Last year more than 900 monuments and buildings in 84 countries were illuminated in recognition of the Blue Circle – the global symbol of diabetes.  In Malta the initiative was taken by the Ministry of Health and the Maltese Diabetes Association. Over 30,000 persons have diabetes in Malta.
