The 20-year-old nailed the difficult four-revolution jump in his opening element and went on to pull off a clean triple axle and a triple lutz-double toeloop combination Skating to the “Mack the Knife” soundtrack, he also performed top-level spins to collect 74.83 points in what is the fourth stop of the six-event Grand Prix series.

Baseball: Washington Nationals catcher Wilson Ramos, whose kidnapping in his native Venezuela has anguished baseball fans around the world, has been rescued alive, government officials said. “Baseball player Ramos was found alive by security forces in the mountain region of Montalban,” Information Minister Andres Izarra said. Sports officials said Ramos had been seized by four armed men near his parents’ home in Santa Ines on Wednesday.

Golf: Former winner John Senden scorched around The Lakes in a nine-under-par 63 to seize the third round lead at the Australian Open as Tiger Woods went backwards yesterday. The Australian 2006 champion carded an eagle two and seven birdies to charge to the top of the leaderboard on 12-under 204, one shot ahead of compatriot Jason Day. Woods had a frustrating day, starting as the overnight leader but falling behind after bogeying his opening three holes and never recovering. The 14-time major winner slumped to three-over 75 to lie six shots behind the lead.

Boxing: Thousands of boxing fans converged on Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center arena on Friday for a public memorial to mourn former undisputed world heavyweight champion Joe Frazier. Fans braved cold and whipping winds to line up and pay their respects to the hall-of-fame fighter, who died Monday at the age of 67 after a battle with liver cancer.
