CONNELL. On November 4, at Mater Dei Hospital, to Louisa née Mallia and Lee, God’s precious gift of a daughter – MICHAELA, a most welcome sister to Mattea. Deo gratias et Mariæ. Sincere thanks to midwife Charmaine Zerafa andall the maternity staff for their excellent care.
FALZON SCERRI. On October 17, at Mater Dei Hospital, to Daniela née Grech and Clint, God’s precious gift of a son – THOMAS. Special thanks to all the staff at the hospital for their support and dedication.
MAGRI. On November 10, at Mater Dei Hospital, to Katya née Pisani and Mark, God’s most welcome gift of a first-born son – MAX. Gracious thanks to God and His Mother Mary for this blessing. Thanks also to the obstetrician and all the maternity staff at the hospital.
MICALLEF. On October 26, at Mater Dei Hospital, to Graziella née Galea and Simon, God’s precious gift of a son – ETHAN, a most welcome brother to Martina. Thanks be to the Lord and the Blessed Virgin. Special thanks to the hospital staff.
Marriages
Dr IAN CROCKFORD and Ms NATALIA ISAIEVA
The marriage took place on Friday, November 11, 2011 between IAN, son of the late Alfred and Mignon Crockford of Sliema, and NATALIA, daughter of the late Vladimir and Galyna Isaieva of Feodosiya, Crimea. The marriage ceremony was held at Lapsi chapel, St Julian’s and was officiated by Fr Claude Portelli. Dr Malcolm Crockford, the groom’s brother, and Svetlana Maskina, the bride’s cousin, witnessed the ceremony. The bride was attended by Sarah Papagiorcopulo, the groom’s niece, while Maria Isaieva, the bride’s niece was flower-girl. Ian Fenech carried out the duties of best man and Jeremy Papagiorcopulo, the groom’s nephew, was master of ceremonies. The nuptial celebration was followed by a seated banquet for close family and friends at the State Hall of the Palace Hotel, Sliema. The couple will be spending their honeymoon on Paradise Island in the Bahamas.
Obituary
CIAPPARA. On November 11, at Mater Dei Hospital, VERGINIA, aged 87, widow of Paul of Valletta, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Carmelo and his wife Jane, George and his wife Lina, Angela and her husband David Mercieca and Angelo Farrugia, her grandchildren, Sister Ritianne of the Franciscans of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Miriam and her husband Robert Bellia, Josef, Roberta, Chritian, Nathan John, and Jessica, her great-grandchild Shaun Hayden, her brothers and sister Fr Julio Bonnici Augustinian, Paul and his wife Miriam, Romeo, Lawrence and his wife Lucy, Mary and her husband Emanuel Attard and Carmen, widow of her brother Alfred, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorow at 7 a.m. for St Augustine parish church, Valletta, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.15 a.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Hospice Malta will be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.
CUSCHIERI. On November 14, at Mater Dei Hospital, KERRIE, née Camilleri, of Birkirkara, aged 90, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her sisters Doris and Vicky, Nellie, widow of her brother John, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8.45 a.m. for St Theresa Sanctuary, Birkirkara, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.15 a.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. May the Lord grant her eternal rest.
MANCHE. Dr RICHARD MANCHE, aged 83, passed peacefully away on November 11. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Philomena and his two daughters Justine and Petra, numerous loving and caring relatives and his friends around the world. Mass praesente cadavere will be said tomorrow at 2 p.m. at St Julian’s parish church, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery (entrance at the top back gate). No flowers by request. Lord, grant him eternal rest. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Mater Dei Hospital for their kindness and care.
ZARIFA. On November 11, at Mater Dei Hospital, GENEVIEVE, of Naxxar, aged 79, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Yolande, widow of Hussein, Lucy, Nadia, Maggie and her husband Simon, Alfred and his wife Elena, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8.15 a.m. for Naxxar parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.45 a.m., followed by interment at Naxxar cemetery. May she rest in peace.
