Melita denies the claims made by Go’s PR manager Vanessa Macdonald (The Sunday Times, October 23) that Melita’s Fibre Power Internet packages have a ‘capped’ download limit.

Unlike Go, Melita never closes down access to download bandwidth. While a fair usage policy is in place to prevent abuse and impact on other users on the network, if Melita registers a case of unexplained excessive use, then download speeds may be slowed down for that particular user but never closed.

Moreover, Go cannot claim that it offers ‘similar products’ to Melita’s Fibre Power Internet. Some comparisons are in order. Melita’s Fibre Power service starts at 25 Mbps, with the fastest broadband connection reaching 100 Mbps. Go is limited to a maximum of 20 Mbps.

Melita adopts the unique DOCSIS 3.0 technology, which offers potential for speeds higher than 100 Mbps and enhanced quality of service features.

Melita offers three Fibre Power Internet packages: 25 Mbps with 1.5Mbps upload speed, 50 Mbps with 2 Mbps upload speed (3 Mbps for business customers) and Malta’s only superfast broadband connection reaching up to 100 Mbps download speed and upload speeds of up to 4 Mbps.

Any prospective customer interested in learning more about any of these packages is invited to refer to www.melita.com, call our call centre on 2727 0270 or visit any Melita outlet/exclusive reseller.
