Median remuneration packages have increased by an average 3.1 per cent, up from the 2.6 per cent increase in 2010 but lower than the 3.8 per cent increase in 2009, Misco Consulting’s annual Misco Salaries and Benefits Report 2011-2012 shows.

The survey covers 52 position titles from the top tier positions such as general managers, operations managers, project managers to supervisors, analysts, sales representatives, engineers, technicians, secretaries, operators, tradespersons, messengers and cleaners.

Compiled to provide senior management with information about the different remuneration packages paid to managerial, executive and other salaried staff across Malta, the Misco Salaries and Benefits Report focuses on the packages and benefits offered in various private, foreign-owned and governmentcontrolled, services and manufacturing companies. This segmentation of information gives the end-user a better idea of remuneration offered locally, allowing for a more accurate positioning of the organisation within the market.

“The report is highly detailed, giving a clear picture on how specific positions are remunerated and the pattern by which these remuneration packages have developed compared to previous years,” Misco Consulting’s Lawrence Zammit explained. “For example, positions such as those involved in HR management and financial management experienced the highest increase in median remuneration package, 5.7 per cent and 5.6 per cent respectively, as did other managerial positions such as quality assurance managers – 4.8 per cent –and marketing managers at 4.3per cent.”

This year, the report includesseveral new positions such as business development managers, engineering managers, accounts executives, credit control assistants and IT engineers.

Remuneration packages depend on the company’s turnover, value added and its position in the market. Copies of the report are available by calling 2122 0303 or 2205 4651/2 or by e-mail to rbondin@miscomalta.com or svella@miscomalta.com.
