GWU proposes new roster for Arriva workers
A new roster for Arriva employees was proposed this morning by the General Workers' Union during a meeting with the company.
The union said in a statement that during the three-hour meeting agreement was reached between the two sides to start meeting to discuss a collective agreement. These meetings are expected to start next week.
Several issues were raised during today's meeting including occupational health and safety, hours of work and sick leave payment.

The GWU should inquire if U.K. bus drivers for Arriva get the same pay packet as Maltese drivers - is it equal pay for equal work or anything but?

The GWU needs to inquire of Arriva if Maltese drivers are paid the same salary as that earned by drivers from the U.K. - if such drivers are still being utilized to fill the gaps.
I was once told that Arriva drivers from the U.K. earn twice the amount given to the Maltese doing the same work. Surely that is unacceptable and even the government social services department ought to check the situation.
