Jonathon Felice, 23, Gzira and Ryan Briffa, 21, Qormi, were remanded in custody today after pleading not guilty to breaking into an elderly woman's house in Mosta yesterday  and stealing household items, jewellery and cash. They were also accused of relapsing.

Mr Briffa was also charged with being in possession of a flick knife.

The break-in took place while the woman was at early-morning Mass.

The court was told that policemen went to the site after a tip-off and found the two men hiding at the back of the house.
