The prices of another 15 medicines have been slashed, including of the antibiotic Augmentin and medicines used to treat hay fever and Hepatitis A.

So far 176 medicines have had their prices reduced in a drive to bring them in line with the average in Europe.

People who suffer from osteoporosis, glaucoma and depression would also benefit from the newly reduced prices, the Fair Competition Parliamentary Secretariat said.
