Nadur Youngsters recorded an impressive 4-0 win over Victoria Hotspurs to take sole leadership in the GFA Division One standings with maximum points from three matches.

Xagħra United have joined Xewkija Tigers in second place after beating bottom-placed Għajnsielem 2-1 in the other match from the top flight.

Nadur’s third successive win was never in doubt as they dominated Victoria Hotspurs for most of the 90 minutes.

Anthony Portelli had a goal disallowed for offside in the early stages but Nadur opened the scoring on 13 minutes from a Milos Stojanovic inswinger.

Nadur stayed on top, Claudio Antunes doubling the advantage with a low drive on 31 minutes.

The Hotspurs staged a reaction but fell further behind when Antunes made it 3-0 with a fine header soon after the restart. Stojanovic sealed the issue with a fourth goal a minute from time.

Xagħra turned defeat into victory with a dramatic stoppage-time winner.

Għajnsielem took the lead on 14 minutes through Manwel Cordina but they failed to build on that early breakthrough, allowing the Blues to get back into the match.

Xagħra drew level just before half-time thanks to a Thiago dos Santos penalty.

The Blues saw more of the ball in the second half but Għajn-sielem almost scored a second goal late on when a Jason Portelli shot was saved by keeper Matthew Vella.

The Blacks were caught napping in added time as a Xagħra breakaway climaxed with Michael Bezzina hitting a stunning winner that left the Blacks goalkeeper stranded.

In Division Two, leaders Kerċem Ajax inflicted a 5-1 defeat on lowly Għarb Rangers for their four successive win. Sabri Rais gave Kerċem a two-goal lead by the end of the first half and Marlon Mamo scored their third soon after the restart.

Substitute Andrew Mizzi added the other two goals for Kerċem before Joseph Muscat scored a late consolation goal for the Rangers.

Oratory Youths returned to winning ways with a close 1-0 win over Munxar Falcons.

Josef Galea struck the goal that mattered just before half-time.
