PN reprimands Emanuel Delia
The Nationalist Party has “reprimanded” Emanuel Delia, the head of secretariat in Austin Gatt’s ministry, for representing himself as a prospective candidate in comments he made on Facebook.
“All candidates contesting general elections are approved by the PN Executive Committee,” the PN said in a statement last night. “... Emanuel Delia is not an approved candidate for the general elections.”
Mr Delia, one of the architects of the bus service reform, intends to stand as a general election candidate on the fifth district, the district contested by Franco Debono, who last Friday abstained in a no-confidence vote against Dr Gatt over the public transport reform.
Questioned on PBS last Saturday on whether Mr Delia’s candidacy was a factor, Dr Debono said he had been elected when his district was contested by such stalwarts as Louis Galea and Helen D’Amato and therefore nothing had changed for him with Mr Delia’s candidacy.

Is the PL going to reprimand Mario Calleja, Mayor of Marsascala for going on facebook and presenting himself as PL candidate doing door to door in the fifth District when his candidature has not yet been approved by the PL Executive? If it’s good for the goose it’s good for the gander!

..... Is the Nationalist Party trying to appease Dr Debono by 'reprimanding' Mr Delia? I think that this is not the first time somebody said publicly that he/ she is contesting the election with the Nationalist Party a long time before his/her nomination is approved by the party.

It will be a pity that Delia will not join the PN. He was part of the collective incompetency for the Arriva fiasco. Imbilli jkomopli jaghmel il-frejjeg ma Gonzi. It`s a pity if he does not be part of the Lawrence principle!!!

If Delia is one of the architects for the bus reform !! Is he expected to get a vote of confidence from the Fifth District by voting for him ? I can imagine what kind of professional representation I would get by voting for him .
