More than 400 delegates have convened in Malta for the annual general meeting of the Europe Direct Information Centres, which kicks off this evening.

The Europe Direct Information Centres are present in varying numbers in all EU member states. Their role is to inform citizens about EU policies and to receive queries on EU-related issues.

Malta has two such centres hosted by the Union Ħaddiema Magħqudin and the Genista Foundation.

A number of high-profile EU and government personalities will be addressing the meeting for delegates of centres from all over Europe, organised by the European Commission office in Malta.
