Malta Music Awards 2011

The Malta Music Awards, Malta’s premier national music awards show, has announced an affiliation agreement with national TV station TVM.

Through this agreement the event, which has for many years supported and awarded local artists, will continue its efforts to establish itself as an international music awards show that will help promote and showcase Maltese talent on an international platform.

For this year’s edition, the MMAs will be selecting local acts to perform in the UK early next year as part of an incentive to help artists get exposure abroad.

The selected acts will be announced during the awards night which will take place on November 26.

Apart from the usual line-up of top local artists performing, this event will also feature top artist Billy Ocean as its special guest.

A successful pop artist with four number one hits in the UK and three in the US, Ocean started his career in the mid-1970s and has clocked up several hit singles and albums over the years.

He will be performing two songs during the awards night. Tickets cost €10 (standing) and €20 (seated) and will go on sale as from tomorrow from all Go outlets and Springfield in Valletta and The Point.
