A person permanently injures two young girls gets the same jail sentence and his 10 years ban on driving is reduced to 6 months commenceing from the date of inprisonment. Vera justice on this Earth is non existent.

I am sorry, but I am confused. Really confused. So driving without a licence, running over two kids, (I don't have to repeat the episode), the culprit gets away with two years in jail. And stealing a handbag with 1000 euros in it gets two years as well. What is the message here?

Was it a guilted handbag. The previous court sentences some have been somthing else to be jailed
for two years. The judge has taken this act very serious.

Some people live in a different world - Euro 1000 for a handbag, - I think twice before paying 20 odd cents for a carrier bag.

@ Paul Barrett
The value is not really relevant - stealing is stealing, and a crime.
Stealing is taking someones possessions which they paid for with money they earned - the actual value means different things to different people but stealing is the same for everyone.

A Louis Vuitton bag can easily cost E1000. For the super rich, a Hermes can set you back over E5000.
