After having secured the services of Abraham Portelli, National League outfit Depiro Mtarfa have just succeeded in completing two other signings in the October transfer window as the club is aiming to challenge for the major honours in the Malta Basketball Association competitions this season.
Adrian Micallef and Greg Hamlin, of the United States, are the latest additions to the squad.
Micallef boasts vast experience in the local league having won the National Championship three times and the KO tournament on three other occasions besides eight MBA Shield winners’ medals.
He has been part of the national team for 14 years now and also played part of the Malta Falcons squad that participated in the Italian League.
Before his move to Malta, Hamlin played for Flint Northern High School and then Mott Community College, winning a National Championship in his second year with them.
He later played for East Tennessee State University for two years and in his senior year his team went on to become States Champions and earned the right to play in the 2009 NCAA Tournament.
