Who wants a bet that the police inform us that the road traffic incident which necessitated the closure of the road was caused as a result of the "driver losing control of the vehicle",How revealing.

That is almost always likely to be the case unless a mechanical defect is found and even then that would more than likely cause or contribute to "loss of control" What is important in every case is what factors caused the "loss of control" in the first place!! Falling asleep?, on mobile?, diesel spillage?, doing make-up?, showing off?, driving too fast for conditions?, drink?, drugs? etc etc. The list is endless and It is almost a certainty that crashes would not occur if there was no loss of control so to give that as a standard "cause" means very little as a stand alone comment!

Same goes for the new service road to Cirkewwa replacing the one under construvtion. on early Friday morn on the way to Gozo atrailer broke down and bloked the street resulting in blocking all visitors doing the trip to Gozo....TM please note .....need to widen that part of road. There were 2 bus loads, a mini van full of tourists and loads of locals stuck there.

I think that that means that if you're coming from Gozo you're out of luck. It's time they build a bypass from Cirkewwa to Mellieha to join with the other bypass that leads to St Paul's Bay. Gozitans or Gozo visitors are at the mercy of only one street.

Alfred, there is a bypass from Cirkewwa to Mellieha. It's where the accident happened. You can alternatively not use the bypass and drive through Mellieha. What on earth are you on about?
There isn't much of an alternative between Mellieha and Xemxija, although I can assure you the locals know the secret ways around that one too.

actually mr grech, you can use mellieha centre, you don't need a bypass in-case another bypass is closed ...

There are two sections that make up the Mellieha by-pass. One from the Selmun roundabout to the Mellieha/Manikata roundabout and the other section from the same roundabout to the roundabout by the SEabank Hotel.

For your info, I opened a school teaching people how to get lost in Malta and you proved to me I'm a qualified teacher - I got it all mixed up - the area that I think needs some planning done is as we pass the Red Tower towards Cirkewwa. I understand they are widening it now but perhaps an alternative road might help in case of an accident.
