Neptunes player Steve Camilleri is the winner of the 2011 Player of the Year award for Division One teams, the Aquatic Sports Association announced during its council meeting last night.

The Malta international player collected the highest number of votes to finish ahead of his Neptunes team-mate Niki Lanzon.

Camilleri had an outstanding season for Neptunes, scoring some vital goals that propelled his team to a league and cup double.

The award for the best player in the second division went to Valletta goalkeeper Andrea Sammut. He finished ahead of Marsascala goalkeeper Edward Arrigo.
