Isn’t it a great shame that an engineering triumph as the Floriana railway tunnel isn’t reused for an electric shuttle service?

Even a rail-guided bus, with quiet rubber tyres, or swift electric taxis would be better than nothing. It would allow some buses to stop in Floriana reducing traffic in St Anne Street. If well used and made safe enough, with little impact upon its original structure (which should be listed), it could even be used by cyclists and pedestrians in a similar way to unused above-ground train routes in other European countries.

This is a simple idea that may work.
