Paceville can be a good teacher and examiner

The name Paceville conjures up a motley of ideas, some good and some disturbing. How come such a small area of St Julians generates this kind of reputation? Looking at it objectively it has a lot of values, which, I am sure, the local council and especially the Paceville-area councillors are promoting with the help of the Church and generous, dedicated volunteers.

Why is Paceville mostly mentioned in a negative way in the media? Why are the thousands of youngsters and young at heart who frequent this area, especially at night, not given their dues? When one realises the huge number of people crowded in such a small area and the number who visit the Millennium Chapel – both for silent prayer and meditation and solace in counselling and forgiveness – one wonders why some events are given so much prominence and these values are not emphasised?

Paceville is a haven but it needs the full support of the media and the various business concerns to appreciate and advertise its real values, its long-lasting benefits to all who visit with good intentions.

The majority of our youths have good values, which they show and pass on to others by their way of behaviour. Many value the presence of the police and other security and quite a number give a boost to their spiritual needs while they enjoy what Paceville has to offer.

Come to Paceville in a good frame of mind, act in good faith and leave in a happy responsible atmosphere, thus ensuring pleasant memories and promises to return. Youths stay healthy and learn to refrain from excesses when their values are built on solid rock.

Paceville can be a good teacher and examiner. Many pass with high grades. Let us give these youths their dues.
