Alan Horgan, consultant colorectal surgeon from Freeman Hospital, Newcastle, will be delivering a lecture entitled ‘Enhanced recovery after surgery’ on Thursday at 7.45 p.m. at the main auditorium, Mater Dei Hospital, Block C,Level 3. Dr Horgan is appointed national clinical lead for the UK Department of Health’s Enhanced Recovery Programme.

Over the past few years, it has been customary for the University’s Faculty of Medicine and Surgery to host the Ralph Arrigo Lecture.

The lecture is funded by the Ralph Arrigo Foundation, which was set up several years ago in memory of the late Mr Arrigo to promote education and the latest medical advances in Malta.
