10 a.m. Mrs Abela attends the press conference launching the Week of Activities organised by Cavalieri Hotel in St Julian’s in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund.
10.45 a.m. The President receives Victor Formosa at San Anton Palace.
11.30 a.m. He receives Chinese pianist Bao Huiqiao, accompanied by Gu Hongxing, director Chinese Cultural Centre, on a courtesy call at San Anton Palace.
Noon He is presented with a donation in aid of L-Istrina 2011 by the management of Novartis at San Anton Palace.
7.30 p.m. The President and Mrs Abela attend a reception hosted by Hungarian Ambassador Janos Balla on the National Day of Hungary at the Phoenicia Hotel, Floriana.

11 a.m. He receives the members of the Joint Working Group between the Catholic Church and the World Council of Churches, accompanied by Apostolic Nuncio Tommaso Caputo at the Palace.

1.30 p.m. He presides over L-Istrina 2011’s core team meeting at San Anton Palace.
6 p.m. The President, accompanied by Mrs Abela, inaugurates the conservation project of the Timber Decorated Ceilings, sponsored by Bank of Valletta, followed by a recital by Chinese pianist Hao Huiqiao at Verdala Palace, Buskett.

7 p.m. The President and Mrs Abela preside over the piano recital by Marco Clavora Braulin, presented by the Slovak Embassy in Rome, the Honorary Consulate of Slovakia in Malta and The Slovak Institute in Rome, at San Anton Palace.

10 a.m. The President receives the chefs participating in the Vivanda’s Chefs Challenge at the President’s kitchen garden, San Anton.
7 p.m. The President and Mrs Abela attend a piano recital by Marco Clavora Braulin, followed by a reception hosted by Slovakian Ambassador Maria Krasnohorska on the National Day of Slovakia, at the Casino Maltese, Valletta.
Sunday
The President and Mrs Abela depart to the UK to visit Maltese patients receiving medical treatment.
