Some 60 students from St Martin’s College recently spent five days at Pippa’s Paddock sleeping in tents and participating in the activities organised for their third camping trip to the Madonie Mountains in Sicily.

Activities included a visit to the catacombs in Palermo, swimming in Lake Caccamo and in the freezing waters of the Gole Alcantara, a visit to the war museum in Catania, horse riding and a day spent climbing trees in the Parco Avventura Madonie.

The students also had the opportunity to experience the natural and unspoilt rural beauty of central Sicily.

Apart from being jam packed with activities, the real success of this annual trip lies in the community spirit and a sense of care and belonging is created among participants.
