A nine-day neuro-linguistic pro-gramming (NLP) certification pro-gramme is due to be held in Malta between January 21 and 29, 2012. The trainers will be an international team led by NLP trainer and personal development specialist Jackey Backman.
NLP is an approach to psychotherapy and organisational change based on a model of interpersonal communication chiefly concerned with the relationship between successful patterns of behaviour and the subjective experiences – especially patterns of thought – underlying them.
It involves a system of alternative therapy which seeks to educate people in self-awareness and effective communication, and to change their patterns of mental and emotional behaviour.
The term ‘neuro-linguistic programming’ refers to a connection between neurological processes, language and behavioural patterns that have been learned through experience, and which can be organised to achieve specific goals in life.
Backman said that by making the NLP programme available in Malta, participants will no longer need to travel to the UK to receive NLP training. She said this fits in with the plan of the programme organising sponsors One Spirit Inc. to make Malta a European hub for its personal development training programmes.
For the past six years the same organisers have been holding the ‘Nine Principles of Personal Power’ event in Malta. Backman said the corporate and public interest in these personal development programs has been extraordinary.
“The people of Malta are eager to learn and grow. I am proud to be of Malta origin,” she said.
While Backman and Joseph Takuski are in Malta, they will also be conducting private work as master-level practitioners of NLP, meditation and Qi Gong.
The two have over 20 years of combined experience in helping clients successfully overcome obstacles such as anxiety disorders, phobias, obsessive compulsive disorders, and abuse.
