Man charged with threatening wife

A 51-year-old man from San Gwann was this morning remanded in custody after he pleaded not guilty to threatening his wife, breaching the protection order and relapsing.

Julian Genovese was accused of holding his wife against her will and breaching a protection order against her and their children.

In a separate arraignment, Ethopian Muftah Jubier, 21, was jailed for three months after he pleaded guilty to using a passport that belonged to someone else.

Mr Jabier tried to leave Malta with the passport, which he claimed he had found, yesterday.
